ITALIAN SOCKETS LAB
Circular economy
– Lab Description
The Italian SocKETs lab focuses on the technologies enabling the transition of the building and construction sector and the built environment towards a circular economy.
The lab will develop dialogue with stakeholders to co-create visions, strategies and applications on the use of advanced technologies (e.g. advanced materials, manufacturing systems, ICT, IoT, AI, blockchain, etc.) to promote circular economy by design approaches in the building and construction sectors as well as in urban planning and regeneration.
AIRI, implementing the lab together with the National Museum of Science and Technology ‘Leonardo da Vinci’, will work with stakeholders to discuss on how Key Enabling Technologies and R&I strategies could improve sustainability and quality in urban planning and buildings design, renovation or restoration. They will consider aspects such as urban regeneration, reduction of material consumption and waste, energy efficiency and transition to renewable energy, comfort, quality, duration and security and others.
